  • Celebrating diversity, where uniqueness is embraced with inclusivity as a priority.

At My Little Sunshine Early Learning Centre (MLSELC) we foster a sense of belonging by ensuring that children and their families are known and represented within our service. We create an environment where children's sense of belonging is reflected through the display of pictures, art, and creations that celebrate their identities. We observe and plan for children's interests, providing them with opportunities to share their voices, ideas, and feelings, which are respected and represented in our environment and daily routines. We intentionally plan diverse cultural experiences, which reflect images, languages, celebrations, and programs to cultivate an inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued and celebrated. We are dedicated to ensuring that all children have access to quality care and education. Our commitment to celebrating diversity extends to ensuring equal opportunities for all children, fostering a truly inclusive environment where every child can flourish. Trust and mutual respect lay the foundation for strong relationships, building a connected and supportive community.

Building relationships based on trust, open communication, and honesty.

Our open-door policy encourages families to actively engage with us and be involved in their child's learning journey. We maintain daily communication channels between educators and families through various avenues, ensuring that families are informed and involved in their child's daily journey. We provide support, guidance, and resources to families when needed, respecting their views, beliefs, and goals for their child. Families are actively involved in decision-making processes, including policy reviews, changes, Centre programs, and individual learning programs, as we believe in nurturing a connected and supportive Childcare community. We also foster strong and supportive relationships among our educators and the MLS team, creating a positive and effective team that works collaboratively.

Empowering children to explore their curiosities and embrace endless possibilities.

At MLSELC, we implement a play-based program that prioritises children's well-being and enhances their learning outcomes. Our flexible daily routine allows for spontaneous and child-led opportunities, giving children the freedom to explore their interests and curiosities. We reflect individual and group interests in our learning program and environment, tailoring experiences to nurture their love for learning. We implement strategies that encourage and empower children, such as asking open-ended questions, being role models, providing options for creativity and problem-solving, and ensuring educators are present and learning alongside children. We believe that by fostering a love and confidence for learning, children are empowered to embrace endless possibilities and develop a lifelong passion for exploration and discovery.

Nurturing connections and fostering community bonds for a holistic approach.

We open our doors to the wider community of families through events held throughout the year, creating opportunities for families to come together and strengthen their connections. We actively engage with our community through excursions, incursions, and participation in various community events, forging strong ties and expanding children's horizons. The cultural communities within our service are proudly represented through celebrations, our team members, and the art and displays within our Service. Children are also provided with opportunities to connect to Land and Culture with embedded perspective of First Nations People. By nurturing connections and fostering community bonds, we create a rich and inclusive environment where children, families, and educators collaborate to provide a holistic and meaningful educational experience.
