Learning Areas

Emotional and Social Wellbeing

Focusing on daily emotional and social wellbeing of the children. Including established routines, emotional regulation and social skills with peers and educators

Sensory

Opportunities for engaging through various learning experiences using the senses. Supporting self-regulation, fine motor skills and problem solving

Creative

Opportunities for learning through creations. A space for children to express individuality and ideas through creative learning in child led spaces

Exploratory

Opportunities for learning through exploration, discovery and investigation. Children learn about the world around them and their place in it

Physical Wellbeing

Focusing on children’s physical wellbeing, such as building positive nutritional habits, relationship with making better choices, participating in active experiences and access to outdoor play spaces

Manipulative

Opportunities for learning through manipulation. Promoting problem solving, concentration, fine motor skills and coordination by exploring ideas with a hands-on approach

Events

Occasions from children’s family, cultural group, neighborhood and wider community are recognized and celebrated. Children develop respect for diverse values and beliefs as they learn about practices which are different to their own.

Monthly Program Plan

The monthly program reflects the group interest or learning goal. These plans are reflected in both large and small group learning times.

The monthly program will detail the ‘Learning Project’ title, link to previous learning and observations, the learning goals and outcomes for the project.

Each day or week plan will be detailed in a monthly planner.
